Rivers to Oceans Activities
To celebrate Rivers to Oceans Week, the Shubenacadie Provincial Wildlife Park will host a variety of family activities. Starting at 10:00 AM and every hour on the hour a trained interpreter will accompany you as you try your hand at critter dipping in our ponds. In the wetland centre, a $2.00 craft and oceans game will be offered. This day is especially for families and children. Please dress for the weather. Birds of a Feather
8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Come be the early bird and participate in a bird watching hike with an experienced birder. The hike begins at 8:00 AM and encompasses the trail system through the woods behind the wetland centre. Learn how to call the birds. At 10 AM, after the hike, games and activities will be available at the wetland centre. This is a hike for all ages. Pre registration is required. Summer Day Camp 2008

This Summer Day Camp will be held Monday to Friday, July 14 to 18, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Nature lovers age 7 12 are invited to learn about wildlife in a perfect setting at the Shubenacadie Provincial Wildlife Park. This educational and recreational program offers physical, mental, and social stimulation to encourage life long enjoyment of nature. Each day has a different theme: July 14 Exploring Wonderful Wetlands, July 15 Endangered Species at Risk, July 16 Hyped up on Habitat, July 17 Incredible Adaptations, and July 18 Food Chain Frenzy. The cost is $30.00 per day, per child or $135.00 per week, per child. Sponsored by the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources. Moonlight Tour of the Wildlife Park

Celebrate Parks Day by listening to the wolves howl! Join us in an easy, guided moonlight walk of the Shubenacadie Provincial Wildlife Park. Bring a flashlight and get a nocturnal view of the park and its inhabitants. The fee for adults is $7.00, children $3.00. Pre registration required. All ages welcome. Please bring flashlights, insect repellant, and dress for the weather. Sponsored by the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources. Track the Food Web

Come to the Shubenacadie Provincial Wildlife Park and track the food web! This action packed, family activity that guides you through the park and trails will leave participants panting for their lunch. The fee is $3.00 per person. This is a great time of activity for the whole family, however, please note that the activity level is difficult. Please wear good walking/hiking shoes and bring lots of water.
